Meeting called to order @ 7:10 pm by Michele Vaughn.

A quorum of Board members was present.

Approval of Prior Minutes

Minutes from the last meeting were read.  Motion made to approve as read by MV.  2^nd by DH.

Treasurer’s Report

Beginning Balance:                                                $2,615.85 

New VO balance as of August 17, 2011                $2602.90                   

Motion to approve Treasurer’s Report by MV and seconded by DH. 

Old Business

 Jr. Championships and Valley Oaks Show – MEC,  Sept 23- 25

VO show runs concurrently with the Juniors show.  Finish Line will be a sponsor.  Friday - Two rings.  Saturday three rings.  Sunday two rings.  VOs show has one ring each day. VO show will be in the new covered Snack Bar Arena.  There will be a separate warm-up arena for VO show.  Judges will be shared with the Jrs. Show.  Peggy Klump will be judging the FEI classes.  Prizes will be awarded to competitors.

Shirts will be given to volunteers along with lunch slip.  Volunteering to arrive 7:30 am.

New Business

2012 RAAC

 Last meeting we moved to put in application to sponsor the 2012 RAAC for NorCal  VOs got bid for the show. 

July 27-29 at StarrVaughn.  Sac Valley will co-host with VOs.  Central is in SLO and south will be at Temecula.

Adult Amateur Clinic

 Jan Ebling will be clinician for North.  Will be in Santa Rosa.  Date TBD but expected to be May of June.  All new requirements have been posted so look on-line if you for information.

 VOs will do nominations at the February meeting.  You have to volunteer at least once for VOs at a show in the prior year to qualify for nomination.  Also have to submit a bio for the February meeting.

Chapter Decorating Competition at Championships Oct 6-9

Chapters can decorate a stall for hospitality room.  Deadlines Friday, Sept 30.

Watching DVDs with the new tests

This event is planned for the Dec “fun night meeting”.  Tentative for Dec 14.  VOs owns the DVDs already.

Corky from Sheldon on Nutrition

Donna will explore the possibility of getting Corky to come to our meeting for Nov 16.  We may have to find another location for the meeting.

Meeting Night

Meetings are now held on 3^rd Wednesday of the month.  We will keep meetings on this night going into 2012.  There seems to be less activity at Fat Mike’s on Wednesdays.

Elections

We will create the Slate of Officers running for election at the October 19 meeting.  Patti will email membership regarding the elections and asking people if they want to run for office.

Donna Holmes as the Vice Chair will do the ballots and will email them out after the October meeting.

Hard copies will need to be returned to the November meeting.

CDS Annual Meeting

Jan 20-22 at Marriott in Rancho Cordova.  Instead of a meeting on Sunday, there will be a symposium on Sunday at MEC with Clinicians.  .  Attendance at the meeting is free.  There will be a banquet on Saturday night.

USDF Meeting – to be held in San Diego, California !!

Nov 30 – Dec 2:  Regular Meeting

Dec 3-4:  Symposium in Del Mar

Cost is approximately $325

Clinicians:  Jeremy Cyber, Scott Hassler, Debbie McDonald(?), others.
