Meeting called to order @ 7:05 pm by Chairman, Michele Vaughn.

Members/Guests Present

Suzanne Breen,  Riki Herrera, Michele Dodge, Patti Kremer, Donna Holmes, Michelle Pappone-Beedy, Michele Vaughn, Diana Taylor, Patti Kremer           

Approval of Prior Minutes

Minutes from the last meeting were read.  Corrections made: Michelle Pappone-Beedy will change the bank account, not Michele Vaughn.  Motion to approve and second by Donna Holmes and Michele Vaughn.

Treasurer’s Report

Current balance as of  November 16, 2011 is 3,091.95.

Old Business

Adult Amateur Clinic

·        Michelle P-B to send check for the clinic for VOs chapter.

·        Jan Ebling will be the clinician.  Moved to later in the year.  May be the same date as the Valley Oaks Shows/Jr Championships in Sept.

·        We will have nominations for VO representative in May or June.

CDS Annual Meeting – Jan 20-22 in NorCal at the Rancho Cordova Marriott.

·        Meeting is free to members

·        Symposium at Murietta Equine Complex on Sunday - $50 charge.

o       Clinicians:  Alfredo Hernandez, Shannon Peters, Kevin Reining

2011 Jr Championships

·        Had 57 volunteers.  Show went well and made a profit.

VO’s Educational Night

·        Tentatively scheduled for February 15 meeting. 

·        Topic:  Equine nutrition

·        Donna Holmes to secure presenter

·        Location to be decided at January meeting

VO’s show in September

·        Add for the show will appear in the Omnibus

New Business

Basket for the Annual Meeting – Wine Basket

·        Please bring your donation to January meeting or to Starr Vaughn no later than January 18!!!!

·        Preference for local wines but not required

·        Wine Charms (Donna)

·        Wine Aerator (Patti)

·        Other ideas:  Wine, Crackers, Cork Screw, Nuts, Dessert items, etc.

Elections 

·        The following board members were elected by unanimous ballots.  Eight votes were cast for each board member:

Chair: Michele Vaughn

Vice Chair: Donna Holmes

Secretary: Patti Kremer

Treasurer: Michelle Pappone-Beedy

Next Meetings

·        December – No meeting

·        January 18  -  Fat Mikes  7:00  (Bring Wine items for Basket)

·        February 15  -  Possible education meeting – Equine Nutrition.  Location TBD in January.

Grants for Education Events

·        Grants are now available for educational events.  Possible events:

·        Discussion on theory is required to qualify for grant

·        Biomechanics is still a topic that VOs would like to pursue.

CDS

·        Qualifying scores for Championships have been dropped one point. 

·        Does not apply to JRs or RAAC.

New Bank

·        Motion by Michelle Pappone-Beedy to open an account with a new bank.  Motion seconded by Patti Kremer.

·        Signers on the account will be Michele Vaughn and Michelle Pappone-Beedy.

·        Secretary Patti Kremer will sign the minutes per instruction from Treasurer as required from the bank.

Motion to adjourn meeting made by Michele Vaughn, second by Donna Holmes. 

Meeting adjourned @ 7:25 pm.

Fun Night followed meeting.  Reviewed several videos the tests implemented in 2011.

Next meeting:   Wednesday, January 18 at Fat Mike’s Pizza at 7:00 pm.
